The Palm Residence Construction Update
It’s amazing to think within a matter of months some of our customers will be amongst
the first residents to take possession of their superb property located on the trunk
of The Palm Jumeirah. Completion of The Palm Residence (Al Nabat & Al Haseer)
is on track for the first quarter of 2007.
The final stages of building
completion is well under way and work relating to internal
finishes such as ceilings, floors, tiles and bathrooms is taking place in preparation
for the handover. Meanwhile, Nakheel will remain in control of the island, landscaping,
ground maintenance, roads, lighting, etc…
The Club House external structure is now in place and residents will be
able to access the leisure
facilities from the ground floor. A fully equipped gymnasium
will be fitted out to cater for the cluster of four residential towers. The management
of the health
&
leisure complex has been awarded to Jumeirah due to their industry expertise and
world class reputation for managing other similar facilities. Additionally, ground
works are in full swing to complete the pool area and the beautification of the
beach is in progress. Residents can expect to walk along their own private beach
area whilst looking at the stunning silhouette of the Burj Al Arab. Coui get any
better?
With reference to the overall Palm Jumeirah, a major milestone has been reached
with the opening of the Gateway Bridge, albeit just for construction staff at present.
The Gateway Bridge has taken two years to construct and will connect the Palm Jumeirah
to the Sufouh Interchange leading to Sheikh Zayed Road. The North and South Bridges
are five lanes in each direction spanning 360 metres in length and 26 metres across.
The bridge will allow easy access to the island for potentially 40,000 workers and
5,000 vehicles per day during the final stages of construction of Phase A. The frst
phase of construction includes the villas on the fronds of the island and the twenty
shoreline
apartments
located on the East side of the trunk.
The bridge will ultimately provide a state of the art transport artery that will
service the island’s many residential and commercial facilities.
Nakheel has been
working overtime to come up with an innovative idea to celebrate the arrival of
the first residents to the Palm Jumeirah scheduled for the beginning 2007. They
are reported to be flying one of the world’s largest airships to Dubai and have
agreed a deal with Airship Management Services, the world leader in airship operations.
As you will gather, the pace of work taking place continues to gain significant
momentum and key milestones are regularly being achieved.
We look forward to welcoming
our first residents…
