Raimon Land Partners with Classic Golf Tournament
in Thailand

Raimon Land, IFA Hotels & Resorts' strategic partner in Thailand, was an official sponsor of the recent Johnnie Walker Classic 2007. Held at the prestigious Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket, the tournament made headlines thanks to its dramatic sudden-death shootout between South African Anton Haig, his compatriot Richard Sterne and England's Oliver Wilson. In the end, the day belonged to the 21-year-old Haig, who sank a 10-foot birdie putt in the first hole-off to prevail.

The Johnnie Walker Classic attracts one of the best fields of international, world-ranked players to the Asia Pacific region every year, where they compete for a total purse of approximately US$ 2.4 million and an estimated winner's check of US$ 400,000.

Participating in this year's tournament were several members of the European Ryder Cup team including Colin Montgomerie, reigning captain Ian Woosnam and former captain Sam Torrance. In an effort to form a truly international field, the Ryder team was joined by former US Masters Champion Mike Weir, Australia's Adam Scott, South Africa's Ernie Els and Retief Goosen, plus the in-form Englishman, Paul Casey, who recently won the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship and is currently ranked 13th in the world.

There to provide extra incentive for these world-class sportsmen to play their best was Raimon Land, who offered the first player to shoot a hole in one on the challenging 17th hole a free condominium in its prestigious new Bangkok development The River.

The River is Raimon Land's latest luxury development along the majestic Chao Praya River in Bangkok and the brainchild of world-renowned designer Hans Brouwer.

At over 250 metres, The River will be one of Bangkok's tallest structures and is expected to become an iconic landmark for South East Asia.

In the midst of Bangkok's most luxurious five star hotels, every unit in the project's two iconic towers has been designed to offer maximum privacy and unobstructed views. The River offers residents the ultimate lifestyle of luxury and convenience, with easy access to the CBD and Bangkok's shopping and entertainment districts, yet a world away from the city's cares and chaos.

Though no one managed to tame the 17th hole in order to win the condo, the project generated so much interest it shouldn't be a surprise to residents of The River if one of these famed golfers settles in across the hall.
